Hope

  Hope driving force of our survival in any situation.Today, in the days of lockdown, when everything looks unexpected, people are helping others. It sustains our faith in humanity. We all are living in the milieu which is absolutely unprecedented.

    We must thank to our both governments for forcing us to lockdown ourselves. We had not any such experience in the past. Expect a few days of curfew imposed during communal riots, we prefer to live in social harmony.
   Lockdown is different than curfew. It's self-imposed restriction. Most of the citizens are following the guidelines issued by the authorities. But there are many things happening around us which are sufficient to strengthen our faith in humanity.
I read, A doctor who is a cancer patient working in the hospital tirelessly for Corona patients, an eighty years old lady donated her life long savings for PM fund, a farmer has distributed all his yield from his farm to the poor people of his village, a grocer has opened up his godown for the needy, a hotel owner whose business is collapsed during these days, is ready to cook for helpless migrated workers, a teacher has taken the responsibility of some students who are residing in the rented rooms and could not return to their homes, a garage owner is ready to repair all vehicles of Corona warriors in the city freely, a motivator is repeatedly posting motivational videos for the people who are facing psychological challenges.
     These are some examples which represent the nature of our society. Post-Corona days might be challenging, but with the collective efforts we can overcome all these challenges. There are many speculations about our future. T.V channels are tirelessly speaking on that. Social media sites are endlessly pouring out tons of posts and comments on us. For a while, we are confused with the changing socio-political scenario.
    It is said that modernization cuts us from the society and puts us in the confinement of selfishness and greed. And this is the sign of our degradation. But current scenario is enough to erase out such thoughts.
    Corona has united us as a society. Not only our family but we are taking care of others. This is a ray of hope which is so bright and optimistic and sufficient to prove us as a human being.

Future knocks door

Recently, I heard a speech (really, I heard, not listened). The speaker said that we are living in very dangerous period of time and it makes us restless and bla, bla, bla. He was counting various examples of changing world and their adverse effect on human being. A thought struck my mind that is it really a horrible period to live?
         Going back to the long history of human race, we can see that every age has its problems. People living in that period were also thinking same about their fate. 
         Today, our world is afraid of Coronavirus. But in the history, many diseases have been threatened us and put a question mark on our existence. But we survived and resumed our life cycle like a Phoneix, an ancient long-lived bird referred in Greek mythology.   

            Even in the first quarter of the last century, deadly outbreak of Flu pandemic tore across the globe and infected over a third of the world's population. Near about 50 million people lost their lives. This is one example. Still, we, human being, are surviving.
        Hope is a motivational force behind what we are and what we will be...
So, don't scared. We will emerge triumphantly.     
         Ereyestrday, Hon. PM rightly said that we have many opportunities in future. We can become super power. We can strengthen our economy. Our Pharma sector is very strong. We can emerged as the biggest global supplier. Creative people, with their creative instinct, can bring substantial changes in the life of common people. There are many untouched areas of research, they are challenges for us. We have tremendous source of natural resources that could be utilised for development. But, for that, it is required to keep patience! Today's problems are not permanent. With collective efforts, we will overcome all these problems. Yes, we will! So, believe in the best! and wait, future is about to knock our doors...

#Reading

            We are surviving through times like we have never known before; within few days many things entered in our life to make it changed forever. I turned to be a serious reader, made a list of the books that I would read in lockdown and there after.
            Here, generally, I prefer to write about the book once I turned its last page. But today, I feel to say something about it before I starting to read. Don't know how but this Japanese writer has been made tremendous impact on writing and my approach towards literature as a whole. Haruki Murakami is the writer I am talking about and the novel that I have started to read is 'Kafa on the shore'.
           Actually, I like to read many books simultaneously. Presently, I'm reading two books. 'Sapiens: a brief history of mankind' by Yuval Noah Harari, one of the greatest historian of our time and second book is 'Tell her everything', a novel by Mirza Waheed. Both titles are having different genres. But, Yes, let me tell, they are remarkable. First one, as it's title suggests, it is a story of human being and widely talked about book in the world. Other is a fiction. The story is being told by a father to his daughter. Written in very simple English, this novel gripped me from its first page.(Though I had downloaded the book on my Kindle when I read somewhere that this title is the winner of much coveted The Hindu literary prize this year. Ereyestrday, I started to read it.)
          Yes! Now, I was talking about Murakami, who always missed to win Nobel prize (almost every year his name is discussed in media.) Now I have not much to say about 'Kafka on the Shore'. I have its hard copy in my hand, that I had purchased seven years back and planned many times to read it. I think lockdown is the good muharth for that.)
           I know I would take a week or a fortnight to finish this bulky book having 615 pages, because I have a tendency to ruminate on whatever I read. I underline the sentence which I found impressive in the book. Sometimes, like to go back to reread or make notes, if I feel so. It takes so much time to finish the book. But this way I enjoy reading and for me, reading becomes a learnable activity.
